One of the biggest dates on the Manchester United pre-season calendar, adidas have unveiled the club's 2017/18 home shirt. Buttoned up with a bold and sophisticated standard set, it's a strong look as the club turns all eyes to the forthcoming season and an impending tour of the United States.
After launching last season's home strip in Shanghai during United's pre-season tour of China, the 2017/18 home shirt is the third to land as part of the rekindled Manchester United and adidas relationship. With a buttoned-up collar design, white stripes that run across the shoulder, a complimenting black and white cuff combo and tonal buttons, it's a striking look that pops with minimalist effect.
The home jersey features a design which pays homage to some of the classic Manchester United kits from the past. An all-new button-up collar offering an elegant and contemporary look; the adidas three stripes in white on the shoulders; and red, white and black sleeves to represent the colours of the match-day flags seen at United - there's a lot to like here for United fans. The shirt will be accompanied with white shorts and black socks.
The likes of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera will all suit up in this number which will get its first outing as United hit the road and head to the USA for their pre-season tour. The first fixture that will carry these stripes will be the match against LA Galaxy on the 15th July.
The home shirt joins the new look away strip, which takes shapes from the 1990-1992 jersey, in making up two-thirds of United's new 17/18 wardrobe. Next up is the anticipated fan-designed third shirt that United will wear on their European travels.
