Russia are dressed to host as adidas roll out their 2018 World Cup home shirt. Simplistic style all the way as they prepare to welcome the world into their front room.
The new home kit is a modern interpretation of the jersey worn by the Soviet Union during the 1988 Olympic Games, where the team won Gold. The red jersey features solid white lines running from the the back across the arms and onto the chest, offering a modern and bold look. Taking a brighter feel than the previous jersey worn in the 2017 Confederations Cup, and an even brighter display than the jersey they wore at EURO 2016.
A sign-off on the back of the neck features the Russian flag, the Russian eagle and the wording “Вместе К Победе”, translating to Victory-Bound as One. A minimal approach that lets that oversized crest stand proud for an understated but retro feel. The current partnership between Russia and adidas began back in 2009 and this latest design will hands down be their most significant – a strong performance in June would further consolidate its status.

Russia will wear the new home shirt on Saturday 11 November when they host Argentina at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, the venue of the 2018 World Cup Final. Argentina will also be wearing their new adidas home strip having unveiled it earlier this week.
