The hoards of checkered flags that litter the stands at every Croatia game is one of the standout sights of any major international tournament, and Nike know this. They can't go rewriting the rule book, so they've subtly edited it for the 2018 World Cup with two smart home and away strips.
The Croatia home shirt features checks that are more than twice the size than they have been in the past, and Nike have added an extra jagged pattern around each square for a distinct finish. While the home kit retains its tradition of vibrant red, the new away kit delivers the check in black and midnight squares.
Croatia will wear their new Nike 2018 home and away shirts for the first time in the upcoming friendly fixtures with Peru on March 24, and Mexico on March 28. Both games will take place in the United States.
