Manchester United have finally revealed their long-awaited adidas away kit three games into the 2018/19 season. Oh, and it's pink. For the first time in the club's history United will take the pitch in an all pink design, starting with their trip to Burnley on Sunday.
It ain't just pink for the sake of being pretty, the 2018/19 away kit is actually a nod to the pink coloured Manchester Evening News 'Football Pink' newspaper which was heavily read amongst United's fanbase. The pink design isn't new territory for adidas; the Three Stripes have previous produced strong selling pink kits for Juventus and Real Madrid, and they'll be hoping for similar success with United.
The mellow pastel tones might even be enough to calm Jose down. How could the media criticise his precious dumplings in this adorable little outfit? For the record, we're into it. It works. The timing might not be perfect, but that's firmly in the top kit category for us. The shirt will be made available to a small number of fans at the adidas store on Manchester’s Market Street on Aug 28 & 29 before going on sale exclusively at adidas and Manchester United official stores on Sep 13.
