Popping off with all the right shades, FC Barcelona’s 2018-19 third kit continues a bold and beautiful celebration of the city as the club and Nike release a stylish "Light Atomic Pink" outfit.
Pink is clearly the colour of choice for many of Europe's elite this season and with this punching number FC Barcelona have brought all kinds of vibrant good to the fore. The famous Avinguda Diagonal street is a welcome homage and made up as part of a darting sash that goes from the left shoulder to the right hem.
Expressing the creative thread that runs through the game, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director, Pete Hoppins explained, “We believe the kit is bold and exciting and therefore ideally suited to FC Barcelona. The football club is part of the fabric of Barcelona; its influence is visible in every avenue and plaza, and that passion really inspired the team’s 2018-19 collection."
There are 10 vertical stripes on the club's home kit celebrate the 10 principal districts of the city, while the "Volt Yellow" away kit evokes memories of a famous 2005-06 campaign and underlines the club’s adventurous spirit. With a pattern based on an aerial view of Barcelona’s famous Eixample District and its blocks, the third strip provides an extra-special connection back to the city’s landscape.
