With the Bundesliga title likely to evade them this year, Borussia Dortmund turn one eye to next season, with the launch of their 2019/20 home shirt from PUMA. The new shirt design combines traditional and modern elements to mark the German football club's 110-year anniversary.
Borussia Dortmund have pushed all the way for the Bundesliga title, but it looks like they will just fall short. The team have excelled this season, with Jadon Sancho being a real highlight. As such, the team will only need some minor tweaks for next season, and that’s mirrored by the design of the team’s 2019/20 home shirt. It isn’t going to set the design world on fire, sure, but it takes a classic look and tweaks it for another season. Simple, but effective.
The new home shirt takes cues from the kits of the past, combining a clean, classic look with a round neck, raglan sleeves and modern graphics on the shoulders. The neck label inside the shirt also pays tribute to the club’s proud history, stating "110 Jahre – Gestern – Heute – Morgen – Für Immer Borussia Dortmund" ("110 years – yesterday – today – tomorrow – forever Borussia Dortmund”).
The shirt will debut on pitch this weekend as Dortmund face Fortuna Dusseldorf in their last home game of the season, before ending away to Monchengladbach.
