Ahead of this year's 4 July celebrations, adidas have launched a collection of special ‘Americana’ warm-up jerseys for all MLS franchises to wear on the weekend of Independence Day. The same design features throughout the American teams, with separate designs featuring for the league’s two Canadian outfits.
MLS and adidas once again bring a uniformal feeling of inclusivity across the board as together they launch special ‘Americana’ warm-up jerseys for every MLS team in celebration of Independence Day. And in the interests of inclusion, they’ve even created two red variations for Toronto and the Vancouver Whitecaps. It’s becoming a fairly common move for MLS and adidas to release special jerseys to all teams to show support and solidarity. At the beginning of June they released ‘Pride’ jerseys in support of the ‘Soccer for All’ campaign, while April saw teams playing in special adidas x Parley jerseys, helping to raise awareness of and combat the escalating problem of plastic in our oceans.
As with the ‘Pride’ warm-up jerseys, the ‘Americana’ collection uses the same template for all teams – in this instance a stars and stripes graphic – barring the Canadian duo, who have the Canadian Maple leaf in place. The American sides’ jerseys are then finished with gold detailing for club crests, sponsors and adidas branding to mark the celebratory occasion, while the Canadians have to settle for white. The ‘Americana’ jerseys are set to be worn ahead of all MLS fixtures on Independence Day weekend.
