Nike have set Inter Milan up with a regal feel for when they play away from the San Siro, thanks to a fresh feeling 2019/20 away shirt that features black and gold accents that are inspired by the elegance and grandeur of the city of Milan. But the inspiration for the design doesn’t just stop there…
The Inter Milan 2019/20 away shirt from Nike arrives in a vivid aquamarine colourway that brings back memories of the goalkeeper shirt that Julio Cesar wore when the club clinched a historic treble in 2009/10. That alone would serve as enough inspiration for most shirt designs, but this one doesn’t stop there, with some black and gold trim featuring on the collar, cuff, rear neck strip and club crest that’s a homage to the elegance and grandeur of the city of Milan. The inside of the shirt features a Milanese cross that pays tribute to the architecture of the city’s cherished Duomo.
Pete Hoppins, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director, said of the shirt: “I think this is a really fresh away look for Inter for 2019-20. It’s great to be able to do that while also tapping into so much Milanese tradition.”
The kit will be finished with white shorts and colour-blocked socks that are half white and half green, separated by the word “Inter” midway up the calf. The shirt completes a strong look for I Nerazzurri both home and away, following the release of their impressive new home shirt.
