Kappa Launch Aston Villa 2019/20 Third Shirt

As is the current trend, Kappa have looked to the past for inspiration for Aston Villa’s 2019/20 third shirt, producing a modern design that draws on the 93/94 and 94/95 away kit. And to help the launch they’ve enlisted the assistance of some past players to complement the tag “A kit made for icons, modelled by icons”.

The good folk at Kappa have been quietly going about their business this season, releasing some absolutely belting shirt designs, and they continue in that vein with the launch of the Aston Villa 2019/20 third shirt, which has been heavily influenced by the 90s and specifically the colouring of the iconic 93-95 away shirt. And to further tie the design to that era, it has been launched by some icons who represented the club during that time, namely Gordan Cowans, Shaun Teale, Tony Daley, Ian Taylor and Bryan Small. Bit harsh to put them all in the ‘athletic fit’ if you ask us though…

The shirt itself takes a green core with black sleeves and red pops through the sponsor, branding and club crest. The body of the shirt then features a graphic in black that draws influence from the Holte End interior of Villa Park.

Villa have yet to announce the official launch date for the shirt, but they have stated that they will be wearing the kit for the first time when they face Manchester City on Saturday 26 October, so it should certainly be available before that. Supporters can register their interest in the shirt, allowing them to be amongst the first to hear about when it will be on sale, along with being in with a chance of having one of the club’s former players delivering it to you. We've got our fingers crossed for Bosko Balaban...
