Ahead of their Copa Argentina final against Central Cordoba this weekend, adidas have revealed River Plate’s third shirt for their 2020 campaign, and it features a design that combines all the classic colours of the club in another artistic approach from the Three Stripes.
Exactly a year ago to the day that they beat bitter rivals Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final – held at the Santiago Bernabeu due to the unparalleled levels of carnage in Argentina – adidas have revealed the River Plate third shirt for 2020. Timing a coincidence? Yeah, we didn’t think so either. The new third shirt is set to be worn by the club in the Primera Division and most likely in next year's Copa Libertadores.
In a similar style to that seen on the recent Euro 2020 shirts, adidas again utilise an artistic approach to the River Plate 2020 third shirt design, with a hand-painted black gradient stripe graphic running horizontally across the lower portion. The base of the shirt is white, offering a nice contrast, while further black detailing appears through the Three Stripes on the shoulders and around the collar and cuffs. The black is then joined by pops of red, again through the collar, with a single stripe running across the centre of the body.
