Sevilla Launch Limited Black Edition Nike Shirt

Released under the ‘Get Out On The Street’ campaign, Sevilla have unveiled a new limited edition black shirt from Nike that’s been designed to seamlessly traverse the line between performance and lifestyle.

For a club, releasing a special-edition black shirt is the equivalent of a 3-yard tap-in: you really can’t miss. The demand for black will always see such a shirt ranked highly among fans. And La Liga side Sevilla are the latest to plough into that dark domain, reversing their usual white look with a black base that’s joined by red details for a style that’s designed to be fit for both sporting and causal use.

Sevilla are one of the oldest teams in La Liga and are only behind Barcelona and Real Madrid in terms of success this century. The idea behind the shirt’s release is to create more of an appeal for younger fans, encouraging support to be carried and displayed away from the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. To help with this, the shirt also comes with a complimentary cap. And all for just south of £50. Can't grumble.

It has yet to be officially confirmed whether the shirt will be worn in a competitive match, despite the presence of the La Liga badge on the sleeve, but reports in the Spanish media suggest that if its popularity warrants, it may well be taken onto the pitch for a match in the future.
