Inter Milan Unveil Special Edition Chinese New Year Shirt

For the fourth year in a row, Inter Milan are set to celebrate the Chinese New Year by wearing a special-edition shirt that features player names written in Mandarin in an official match, this year in their fixture against Cagliari on 26 January.

Inter Milan have built a strong bond with Chinese fans, stemming from the fact that they are owned by Zhang Jindong via his private holding company Suning Holdings Group. Through this relationship the Italian club have strived to forge a favourable position within the Asian market, celebrating the Chinese New Year with special on-pitch shirts that replace player names with Mandarin, and this year they will feature in Inter’s game against Cagliari on 26 January.

As well as the players names being displayed in Mandarin, this year’s shirt also features a pattern bearing the traditional “FU” 福 character in the numbers, a typical message of good luck, done in different styles of Chinese calligraphy.

The shirt is also joined by a T-shirt bearing a logo dedicated to the Year of the Rat and traditional oriental style stamp with the word “Inter” written in Chinese in the middle has also been created.
