Primed and ready for its first appearance on pitch this weekend, adidas have launched the Sao Paulo 2020/21 home shirt, which celebrates the club’s 90th anniversary. The design sees the classic red, white and black tricolour band across the chest, with the club crest once again taking its position front and centre.
Set to appear in this weekend’s Copa Libertadores group stage match against L.D.U. Quito, the Sao Paulo 2020/21 shirt tweaks the classic design that’s synonymous with the Brazilian side. Still present is the classic red, white and black band that runs across the chest, and it’s still adorned with the club crest smack in the middle. But the change really comes in with the Three Stripes branding.
Switching things up from last season's shirt and shifting from the sides to take a fairly standard position across the shoulders in silver, the Three Stripes are then incorporated further into the design, with a sublimated graphic that runs throughout the body of the shirt. It’s a strong look that doesn’t differ hugely from last season’s offering, but when it looks this good, there’s not much need to change it too dramatically, right? Also, we're never getting bored of that oversized central crest. It's a look that would no doubt be adopted widely should certain league rules be tweaked to allow it.
The Sao Paulo 2020/21 Home Shirt will be available on adidas.com from 11 March.
