Combining some retro vibes with the latest hand-painted design approach from the Three Stripes’ house, adidas launch the Flamengo 20/21 away shirt, ready for when football returns in Brazil.
Inspired by the design of the club's kits in the late 1970s, the Flamengo 20/21 shirt is predominantly white, with an emphasis on that beautifully bold, black V-neck, which in turn is inspired by the uniforms of the 90s. The Three Stripes run across the shoulders in red, and the edges of the sleeves also bring stripes in the club colours towards the arms. Centralised, the club's badge is applied in its white version inside a stripe with that black and red coloured brush effect that’s lifted straight from the 2020 home shirt.
The link between home and away shirts is a nice touch that’s been seen in the last few home and away releases; the overall aesthetic striking the perfect balance of being enough of a departure from last season’s away shirt, while still retaining the exact same essence, all-round executed to perfection. Sublimated Three Stripes run through the body adding further depth to what is an already strong design. Mengo fans given even more reason to look forward to the return of football.
