Santos become the latest club to unveil their home and away shirts for the 2020/21 season, courtesy of Umbro. A tweak on the classic white home look is joined by a black and white striped option for when the Brazilian side travel away from home.
Reinforcing the history of the club through the phrase “O Maior Brasileiro do Mundo” (The greatest Brazilian in the world), Umbro have launched the “Peixe” uniforms for Santos, with a traditional white home look joined by a black and white striped away shirt. Both feature two exclusive stamps; the first on the hem of the shirt, which highlights the global nature of the club through the previously mentioned phrase, while the second, at the nape of the neck, mixes the Umbro brand and branches of victory in the shape of diamonds with a stylised version of the flag of Santos FC.
A sublimated chevron print runs through the body of the home shirt, which, when combined with that Umbro logo, brings back some proper England vibes circa 1990. It has a collar with contrasting detail in addition to a jacquard sleeve and differentiated back fabric, which offers improved breathability and provides a better fit, also facilitated by a slight side cutout. Both the sleeve and the collar of the shirt then feature special details for the fans.
The away shirt again features a sublimated graphic, but here it is restricted to the black stripes, lending the overall aesthetic a deeper tonal effect. The details and the entire development of the shirt seek to reinforce the history and respect the tradition of the club, without sacrificing anything in the design.
