Nike continue the special treatment for the latest team to join the Swoosh ranks, launching the Liverpool 20/21 third shirt, with a design that’s inspired by the fans and flags of the Kop and Anfield’s famous atmosphere.

So far this season, Nike has provided Liverpool with a home shirt that at once honours the tradition of the club while still remaining progressive, and an away shirt that pushes to an area that may not be quite as comfortable. Now Nike round out the set with a grey chequered third shirt design that’s trimmed in the red of the home shirt.

For the Liverpool FC third kit we explored the long-standing traditions of the club and how we could bring that to life through the lens of sneaker culture,” said Scott Munson, VP Nike Football Apparel. “We were inspired by the atmosphere of the Kop on those special European nights and an iconic Air Max colourway, combined to create a third kit that delivers on style and performance.”

The Liverpool third shirt receives its own release, separate from Nike's other Air Max-inspired third shirts, in honour of their first year of partnership. A black and anthracite traditional block check is featured across the front and back of the jersey. The crimson red is brought to life through the side paneling and is introduced further in the neckline, combining it with the wolf gray, to give a subtle V-shape design. The sleeves blend the black and anthracite once more to finish off the jersey.

The Liverpool 20/21 Third Shirt will be available at prodirectsoccer.com from 15 September
