Having made history by being the first Mexican team to reach a Club World Cup Final, Tigres UANL and adidas launch the club’s special third shirt, which sees a white base joined by gold detailing.
Tigres UANL made history this week by being the first Mexican side to make it to the Club World Cup final, beating Palmeiras 1-0 to set up a meeting with Bayern Munich on Thursday. And in what has to be a little something of a coincidence, the club and brand partners, adidas, have unveiled their new third shirt, which is gilded in gold for a look worthy of the occasion, although it’s unclear if the Liga MX side will actually wear the new kit in the final.
Following in the footsteps of the home and away shirts for this season, the third shirt also unabashedly plasters the club name across the front, in the space traditionally reserved for a sponsor. But it looks all the more resplendent in gold, with the Three Stripes on the shoulders also appearing in gold, along with the sleeve cuffs, club crest, and sponsors. It’s a clean and regal look that would take on even more meaning should the Mexican’s triumph over Bayern.
The Tigres UANL third shirt will be available from 10 February at tigretienda.com
