Taking things back to the beginning, Portland Timbers have unveiled their new 2021 MLS home jersey, which features a design that is an update of the club’s inaugural MLS primary kit from 2011.
Next club on the MLS line to unveil their new threads for the coming campaign is Portland Timbers, who take inspiration from past kits, tweaking them for a fresh look that sees the return of the collar and button design – the first time since 2017 and the fourth time in their relatively short history. As well as updating the club’s inaugural MLS primary kit from 2011, the design is also an evolution of the 2019 striped jersey that used a darker green in the hoop accents.
The 2021 home jersey features a split colour design and chevrons prominently displayed down the middle of the shirt to give a stitch effect. The jock tag displays “Soccer City USA” on the bottom left of the jersey, while also featuring “King of Clubs” inside the neck tape as a nod to the Timbers Army tifo from 2011.
Both Portland Timbers and Thorns have announced their multi-year strategic partnership with TikTok too, and as such the “TikTok” brand will appear on the right sleeve.
You can expect to see the new jerseys debuted when the Timbers begin their 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League campaign by first traveling to face CD Marathón at Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in the first leg of the Round of 16 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Tuesday, 6 April at 3 p.m. (Pacific), before playing host to Marathón at Providence Park on Tuesday, 13 April at 5 p.m. (Pacific) in the second leg.
The Portland Timbers 2021 jersey will go on sale Tuesday, 2 March at 9 a.m. (Pacific) on mlsstore.com
