adidas & Arsenal Launch Limited Edition Collaboration With 424

Taking their existing relationship with the US-based streetwear brand to a new level of drip, Arsenal and adidas have launched a new collaborative capsule with 424. The range will combine streetwear with adidas’ performance product, and will continue to blur the lines between fashion and sport.

424 – widely recognised for their cutting-edge creations that are born out of a love of fashion, lifestyle and art – have been making waves in the world of football for a little while now. They’ve displayed an appetite for the game that’s seen them create several collaborations with the likes of Hummel Hive and adidas that don't just show their energy for the sport but their ambition to change the direction of football and create something beautifully new. It’s an approach that has led us to call for adidas Football to tap the brand – and specifically CEO and head designer Guillermo Andrade – for long term partnership. But for now, we content ourselves with the brand being let loose on Arsenal, giving more of a flavour of the potential creative power.

In 2019, 424 were announced as Arsenal’s formalwear partner in what was initially a two year deal. The approach of that collection was new for both tailoring and football, taking traditional fashion and beautifully messing it up for the contemporary crowd. While it was minimalist, it had a massive impact and again elevated Arsenal's brand to the point where the thinking became "why don't 424 put their touch across all Arsenal elements and completely re-set the Arsenal brand?" Looks like we get our wish – in part at least –  with a natural evolution of that original partnership providing us with a limited edition collaborative capsule that combines streetwear with adidas’ performance products.

The apparel includes bold red AFC, 424 and adidas brandings with a red keyline which highlight the architecture of the Emirates Stadium. A training jersey with the 20/21 home jersey graphic in tonal black and carbon grey, and a poncho with oversized 424 branding are two of the star pieces. The collection also includes a super comfortable adilette and the brand new Ultraboost 21 in a black and bold red colourway.

The slide has the same Arsenal x 424 logo lock up as socks, also in the range, which tie the two pieces together for one look, and the UB21 features the same graphic as the jersey on the medial and lateral cages, as well as on the insock. A red outsole adds an extra fashion twist.

Speaking of the collection Andrade said: “We continue to see the sporting and fashion worlds collide, and this range is the embodiment of that trend. At 424, we make clothes for people to wear on the street – literally streetwear, and collaborating with adidas, to bring streetwear and football together is really exciting.

“Football was my childhood passion, and still something extremely close to my heart. Having the chance to create first a formalwear collection, and now this travel and leisure range with my beloved Arsenal is an absolute dream.
