Umbro have dropped the new Fluminense home jersey for the 21/22 season, and it features callouts that honour the 115th anniversary of their first-ever Carioca title.
Few teams in the world can boast such a unique colour combination as Brazil side, Fluminense; the combination of green, red and white always stands them out, boasting the individual identity of the club. So Umbro do not stray far from the traditional look, making slight tweaks and alterations from last season’s offering to keep things fresh. And this comes most notably in the callouts to the Campeonato Carioca success from 1906.
The Campeonato Carioca is contested exclusively by clubs from the state of Rio de Janeiro. In the 1906 tournament, Fluminense won 9 games out of 10 to claim the title and become its inaugural champions. Over the last century, they have enjoyed lots of success with a further 30 titles to date.
The 21/22 home shirt keeps it simple but stylish with traditional green, red and white stripes. Further details include a white crew-neck collar, striped sleeves and matching cuffs. At the bottom of the jersey, the design of the original cup has also been included for the perfect finishing touch. To complete the look, a unique signoff featuring the date of the title has been included on the inside of the neck as well as the hem.
The Fluminense 21/22 home shirt will be available from 20 May on umbro.com.br
