Aston Villa Unveil 21/22 Away Shirt From Kappa

Inspired by the 40th anniversary of the club’s historic European Cup triumph, Aston Villa unveil their away shirt for the 21/22 season from Kappa. The design sees a white base with claret pinstripes on the front, reminiscent of the design from 1982.

Wednesday, 26 May, 1982. A date that will always hold a special place in the hearts of Villa fans following their memorable 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich at De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam saw them clinch the European Cup. To celebrate 40 years since that famous night, the new away shirt for the 21/22 season is inspired by the shirt worn on that night, with the returning claret pinstripe design on the white base, finished with a claret star proudly displayed at the top of the reverse, including the inscription ‘1981-1982’.

Both the KOMBAT ™ PRO 2022 and the replica version of the kit feature a 3D silicone Villa crest, which along with both the Kappa and Cazoo logos will all feature in monochrome claret. Contrasted sleeves in white and claret, the sky blue inside collar tape, as well as claret and azure details at the end of the sleeves and at the bottom back inserts offer a tidy finish that’s linked to the traditional home look.

The KOMBAT ™ PRO 2022 version worn on-pitch by the players will feature Kombat Pro System technology, synonymous with ultra-resistant, elastic and breathable material within the main fabric, a precision fit design which shapes to your body allowing total freedom of movement.
