Out of the darkness, Hull City have just dropped what is sure to be one of the best shirts of the season. Produced by technical partners Umbro, the striking blackout shirt features a tone-on-tone front stripe with everything from club crest to sponsor getting in on the shadow switch.
Who had Hull City as the surprise entry for potential kit of the season? Well pat yourself on the back if you did, because their new away shirt from Umbro for the 21/22 season is an absolute belter. It’s been drained of all colour, leaving a tone-on-tone front stripe with a woven black tonal crest, while the darkness envelopes everything, from the stylised crew neckline and embroidered double diamond, to the bespoke back neck sign-off with ‘Tigers’ lettering.
For those that loved the recent Germany shirt but were disappointed to see the white numbering on the front, there are no such problems here, with numbering obviously not required on the front and even the sponsor, Giacom, getting in the blackout spirit.
Shorts come in black with tonal side panels and feature an elasticated waistband, gusset for enhanced movement, an embroidered stacked diamond and a two-tone woven club crest. Completing the kit are the socks which are black with a tonal cuff detail and feature a tonal jacquard stacked diamond and ‘Tigers’ lettering, a cotton footbed, elastic cuff and instep cool zone technology.
No official date for when the new Hull City away shirt will be available to buy yet, but expect it in the next few weeks.
