It’s been on the rumour mill for a few months now, but Giorgio Armani’s EA7 brand has made its entrance into the world of football, with the reveal of the Napoli 21/22 kits signalling the beginning of a new partnership.
The relationship between football and fashion has developed at an amazing rate over the last few years, and Serie A side Napoli have been only too willing to embrace this shift in culture, having collaborated with Marcelo Burlon recently for a special edition kit. But now they tale a step further, partnering with none other than fashion powerhouse Giorgio Armani’s EA7 brand, as was rumoured back in April.
The move has been announced along with the unveiling of the Italian side’s home, away and fourth (?) shirts for the 21/22 season (curiously no word on the whereabouts of a third shirt...), arriving just in time for the Serie A kick off. It appears that the deal, which has come about mostly through Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis and his shared values with Giorgio Armani.
The home shirt arrives in a traditional blue base with navy accents on the V-neck collar, cuffs and inserts on the shoulders. The EA7 logo is white and takes position high on the right chest, virtually on the shoulder, mirrored by the position of the club crest on the left.
The away shirt arrives in white with gold as the trim, following the same template that is used across the board. Finally, what is titled the fourth shirt sees red as the base – the first use of this colour since 2015/16 – and it’s joined by sky blue accents on the collar, cuff and shoulder inserts.
The EA7 Napoli 2021/22 kit will be debuted in the league match against Venezia on Sunday.
