New Balance Launch Roma 21/22 Third Shirt

Arriving fashionably late to the party, New Balance launch the AS Roma 21/22 third shirt, which revisits the club’s long association with the Lupetto, the iconic wolf emblem that first featured on the jersey in 1978 and has since become an integral part of the club’s identity.

OK, so we’re not even going to try and figure out the launch plan for Roma’s kits this season, with this final instalment, their new third shirt from New Balance, coming after the launch of the club’s fourth shirt. Whatever, it lands as the latest bespoke design for the Giallorossi, following the home, away and aforementioned fourth, this time with the main body of the kit adopting a striking gold colour that is synonymous with the club. 

That gold is then topped off by a striking navy and red sash that flows diagonally from the left shoulder to the right hip. That Lupetto crest then sits on the left of the chest, riding that sash for full effect.

Roma midfielder and European champion, Bryan Cristante said, “We love the energy and vibrancy of the new kit, it’s a strong look that will really help the team to stand out on the pitch.”

General Manager of New Balance Football, Kenny McCallum said: “AS Roma has a powerful identity and a unique story which has influenced New Balance’s interpretation of this season’s third jersey. We recognise the importance of The Lupetto to football culture and its role as a rich source of inspiration for our innovative shirt designs”.
