Primed and ready for their debut in Major League Soccer next year, newest franchise Charlotte FC have unveiled their inaugural primary jersey from adidas for the 2022 campaign, and it’s called the 'Carolina' kit.

Charlotte FC are the latest MLS franchise, set to make their debut in 2022. And to ensure they are suitably dressed, adidas have provided them with their first-ever primary jersey. Looks a bit familiar, right? That’s because it essentially uses the same template as the Arsenal 19/20 home shirt, switching out the red of the Gunners for an icy blue, with the branding moving from white to black. What it lacks in originality it more than makes up for in class. Let’s face it, there’s worse shirts to “borrow” from.

The 'Carolina' kit is set to be worn by Charlotte FC’s players for the 2022 and 2023 MLS seasons, and the jersey nods to the city’s home state, showcasing North and South Carolina together on the jock tag in the lower left corner. The Club kicks off their inaugural season with a match against D.C. United at Audi Field on Saturday, February 26, 2022, followed by their first-ever MLS match at Bank of America Stadium against LA Galaxy on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

As our fans look forward to the debut of Charlotte FC in 2022, the new primary kit represents the bold and progressive philosophy of the Club and embodies the pride and passion of our community,” said Charlotte FC President Nick Kelly. “This kit symbolises our mission to unite fans across the Carolinas as we make history in MLS and in soccer in the United States.
