Charlotte FC Unveil 2022 adidas Secondary Jersey

Following on from the club’s first-ever MLS home shirt and preceding what is expected to be a whole raft of releases from throughout the league, Charlotte FC unveil their new secondary shirt from adidas for the 2022 season.

Back in December last year, new MLS franchise Charlotte FC unveiled their inaugural primary jersey, which came with some significant Arsenal 19/20 vibes. Now they follow that up with their first-ever secondary jersey, ready for the start of the 2022 Major League Soccer season. Dubbed the ‘Newly Minted Community Kit’, the design honours the rich history of Charlotte’s Mint and the significant role the city played in minting early American currency.

The base colour of the kit is black, and it's joined by green accents that flash throughout. But the main talking point here has to be that collar and cuff execution, which features culturally relevant graphic patterns standing out on each – beautiful touch that instantly elevates the design. The colour story coincides with the Club’s crest as “minted” also means “freshly made.”

We’re very excited to launch the Newly Minted Community Kit as it celebrates our city’s history and progress. It is a way to inspire the vibrant Charlotte community to embrace their own MLS club as we prepare to take the pitch for our inaugural season in 2022,” said Nick Kelly, CEO of Tepper Sports and Entertainment. “We invite all fans here in Charlotte and across the Carolinas to join the party on March 5 for the biggest MLS match in league history.”

“I know the fans are going to love this unique kit, which is the perfect blend of Charlotte history and adidas vision,” said Andrea Brimmer, Chief Marketing and Public Relations Officer at Ally. “It's another key step as the excitement builds for the first kick in the Carolinas.
