Drawing attention to the environment and our impact on it, Kappa and Real Betis have planted a tree in the centre circle of Villamarín to present the club’s new special edition sustainable kit, which they will wear against Athletic Club on 13 March.
Alright, Kappa and Real Betis haven’t actually planted a tree in the middle of their stadium… At least we assume not anyway, coz it’d make playing any future games pretty difficult. But the move forms the centre-piece of the campaign to launch the club’s new special edition sustainable kit, filling the Benito Villamarín with its energy and light and further matching the details of the shirt,
The kit has been made in an ethical way following the team’s ecological commitment. It means that the manufacturing process has been managed to entail the minimum energy and water consumption, in as much as the choice of ecological cultivation cotton has voided the process of toxic chemicals. Finally, locally manufactured fabric has been used to reduce transportation emissions, and 60 plastic bottles have been recycled for every kilogram of yarn.
The design is inspired by natural tints, setting its focus on creating a shirt that not only blossoms in the playing field but that also flowers on a stylistic level. Hector Bellerín – who has long been a crusader for sustainability – Juanmi and William Carvalho are the visible faces in the campaign video.
The new shirt will be available in a limited edition from the 10 March in the Real Betis Balompié online shop as well as in their physical shops.
