Angel City Debut Their First-Ever Away Jersey

Paying homage to the style of the city they call home, from the concrete to the coast, Angel City have unveiled their inaugural away kit, named “Daylight”, and it was debuted in their match against San Diego Wave this weekend.

Angel City are embarking on their inaugural season in the NWSL this year, and following the reveal of the new home kit, the club have now unveiled the new away kit, which debuted in the 4-2 loss to San Diego Wave over the weekend. The design continues the story that started with the home kit, which represents the dawn of a new era, and it was created by well-known art director and graphic designer Matthew Wolff.

The eye-catching design is a nod to the City of Los Angeles, where palm trees are abundant. The black sleeve and bottom corner represent the palm trees of the city, while some fronds have a sand detail paying homage to the beach. The team mantra – “VOLEMOS” – appears on the nape of the neck as a reminder to the fans and team alike to always keep flying to greater heights, together.

In addition to the jersey’s unique symbolism, it’s also set to be one of the most impactful kits in the game, thanks to a special initiative. Over the next several years, ACFC will allocate over $2 million toward the community in partnership with the team’s three jersey partners: DoorDash, Birdies, and Sprouts Farmers Market. This impact is made possible through the team’s groundbreaking sponsorship model, where 10 percent of the sponsorship value benefits the community. 10 percent of the sales of both home and away jerseys with the number 22 on the back goes to the Player 22 Future Program. This one-of-a-kind fund creates pathways for all former National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) players interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry. Whether coaching, refereeing, media, or front office roles, the ultimate goal is to prepare players for entry into the workforce following their professional soccer career.
