With a design that takes inspiration from the Hammers’ roots deep in the heart of the capital’s vibrant East End, Umbro unveil the West Ham 22/23 away shirt.
Building off the design of the club’s new home shirt, and the success of the black third shirt from the 20/21 season, Umbro have lifted the lid on West Ham’s new away shirt, and it’s quite the sight. The design sees a sleek black base ensuring all attention remains on those sleeve accents of White, Pink and Sky Blue, whose patterns are inspired by the 100-year-old ship slipway at Thames Ironworks, which was uncovered in the construction of the recently-opened Elizabeth line, and give a fresh look to the Kits.
The West Ham away shirt follows the recently released Bournemouth home shirt, with Umbro yet again delivering some fresh and progressive designs to their teams, whilst also honouring the traditions and values of the clubs themselves. No easy task, but the Double Diamond are once again delivering and then some.
Jonathan McCourt, Head of Football Sports Marketing, Umbro UK, commented: “We are excited to once again create the kit for a historic club that shares both our values and love for the game. This season’s away kit nods to West Ham United’s heritage, while also featuring a slick, modern design. We can’t wait to see West Ham United fans donning the kit as they follow their beloved Hammers home and away this season.”
