Arsenal Celebrate Jamaican Supporters With New 22/23 Prematch Jersey

Celebrating the club’s Jamaican supporters with a colourful design, Arsenal and adidas have released a stunning pre-match jersey for 22/23. Arriving in the colours of the Jamaican flag, it will be seen on pitch for the first time, when the men’s team host Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday 27 August.

We’ve already seen some cracking prematch shirts for 22/23, but Arsenal may have topped them all with their latest release. The new Arsenal Prematch jersey follows in the same template as adidas's other premium teams, made with a bold, all-over geometric print, but with a vibrant display of energy and style it arrives in green, gold and black—the colours of Jamaica’s flag. With many Jamaicans living in the local community and across the capital, it celebrates the Arsenal supporters who call north London and Jamaica their home.

The campaign mixes football and fashion and features supporters in Jamaica, as well as Arsenal’s players in London wearing the jersey. The jersey will be showcased across the weekend at Notting Hill carnival, which returns after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

Commenting on the new jersey, Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, who himself comes from Jamaican heritage, said: “Football is nothing without the fans, and I’m proud to see adidas and my club continuing to support our supporters from all backgrounds – just like we did when we launched our home shirt this year. It’s a stunning shirt and I’m looking forward to wearing it.

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright MBE, who is also from Jamaican heritage, said: “It’s fantastic to see adidas and Arsenal celebrating its rich and diverse fanbase. Arsenal is for everyone, and creating initiatives, support, and products that resonate with the wide ranging fanbase is fantastic to see. The fans are going to love it!
