Nike Provide New UCL Training Kits To Top-Tier Teams

The spectacle that is the Champions League is back, and for the occasion Nike has provided fresh new training kits to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter, Liverpool, PSG and Spurs.

While we’re all accustomed to the brilliance of the Champions League and everything that comes with it, including the best players, the best arenas, that music, and kits reserved for the competition, a new trend has emerged in the last couple of seasons. It has seen teams getting their own dedicated training collections from their respective brands, and ahead of the competition’s return this week and the group stage openers, Nike’s premier European clubs debuted their new training collections.

Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Liverpool, PSG and Spurs all debuted their new training kits, which are constructed using Nike’s 22/23 Vaporknit technology, complete with the recognisable new knit pattern. The change ups to their usual training gear come in the colours more than anything, with no obvious link to any of the respective clubs’ kits, which is unusual for training wear. The tees and shorts have been the most prominent what with the mild weather, although there are also long sleeve drill tops that a few opted for.

Chelsea, PSG and Spurs all get block colour offerings in black, blue and white respectively. Certainly clean, but also somewhat unadventurous. Probably most effective in the Spurs design, though we wouldn’t fancy training in white unless we had shares in an amazing stain-removing wash detergent.

Barca and Liverpool both share similarities in their designs, with the lighter coloured body bordered by black shoulders and sleeves. Finally, Inter and Atletico share what is probably the standout template of the collections, with a solid coloured body (black for the Italians and a deep red for then Spaniards) finished off by blue sleeves for the former and orange of the latter, both of which feature the same graphic to lend then look some added depth.
