Swedish Side BP Auction Special Edition Anniversary Jersey

Swedish side Brommapojkarna, or BP for short, have celebrated their 80 year anniversary in style, releasing a special jubilee jersey created together with partners Nike and Stadium. The limited jersey sadly won’t be available for sale, but you can get your hands on one through a special auction…

Swedish side Idrottsföreningen Brommapojkarna (bit of a mouthful, hence why they tend to go with BP for short) is Europe’s biggest football club with over 4000 players. With 95% of these being youth players, the club plays an integral part in forming the Swedish star players of tomorrow as well as activating kids and adolescents, giving them a meaningful past-time. One fourth of the BP players are female (making it the biggest club for her in Europe) and BP is widely known for its progressive stance on equality. All in all, they’re quite the influential team…

This year BP celebrates 80 years since its inauguration, and the anniversary is honoured with a special jubilee jersey created together with partners Nike and Stadium. The limited jersey is combines a black base with red pinstripes forming wider stripes through the body. The design is then edged in gold – including a special celebratory emblem – for a finish worthy of the occasion. The shirt is also free from sponsor logos, ensuring a premium feel.

The jerseys were worn for one weekend only, with the club’s top men’s team beating Halmstad in them on 27 August, earning them second place in the league with a chance of direct promotion to the top flight in Sweden. The top women’s team is already in the top flight, and they played in the jersey on 28 August, drawing against AIK.

These one-of-a-kind jerseys will not be available for purchase, but both team captains’ jerseys will  be sold in an exclusive auction. All proceeds from the jersey auction will be be used towards activating even more youths through the BP community project Night Football.

The jersey auction started on 2 September and ends on 9 September, and you can find more details and enter here.
