Nike & Corinthians Launch Club's Special 22/23 Third Shirt

Celebrating a decade of Timão's Golden Year, in which the club won the 2012 Club World Cup, Nike have launched the Corinthians 22/23 third shirt, which features a fusion of Japanese elements in reference to the host nation of the ninth edition of the FIFA Club World Cup. It’s set to debut this Saturday, 8 October, in the match against Athletico-PR at the Neo Química Arena.

Since the launch of the new collection for the season, back in April for the home shirt and May for the away, Nike and Sport Club Corinthians Paulista have paid tribute to one of the club's most successful journeys: the Golden Year of 2012. A period marked by great achievements, such as the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup in Japan, and which, after ten years, continue to make the faithful supporters celebrate. Now, for the club's third shirt, they present a fusion of Japanese elements with the casual culture of football shirts in a modern and striking design.

With the ever-increasing appetite for jersey culture in Brazil, the new Corinthians third shirt arrives in a cream colour that’s overlaid by a disruptive and striking design. The phrase “Here is Corinthians!” appears printed in Japanese vertically, in black, repeating itself throughout the shirt. Another detail is the presence of the Japanese flag inside the collar, at the nape of the neck. The club crest and Swoosh (Nike logo) appear on the front of the shirt.

Ten years ago, Corinthians won some of the biggest titles in its history,” commented Duilio Monteiro Alves, president of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. “We celebrate throughout 2022 the joy they brought to the fans, to the players and to everyone involved in this 2012 victory that no one in Brazil has repeated. Seeing our third shirt this season with elements that directly refer to the Club World Cup in Japan is very exciting. I’m sure that fans will embrace this very special uniform.
