Embracing their inner heroes (or something like that anyway) Real Madrid men’s and women’s teams debuted a new clothing collection produced in collaboration with Marvel ahead of their games against Girona and Sevilla respectively.
By now everybody has at least heard of the MCU, Marvel’s cinematic universe, which sees Earth’s mightiest heroes going up against some of the galaxy’s most nefarious villains. But what no one has ever seen is these heroes making appearances on Real Madrid’s clothing – at least that was the case before this weekend anyway, with Los Blancos debuting their new clothing collection from Adidas – the first collaboration with Avengers and the first adidas themed collection in the club's history.
Real Madrid’s partnership with adidas means that both the men’s and women’s football teams, along with the Basketball team, will don clothing featuring Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Black Panther. For the football teams, they wore the Captain America jersey during warm-ups and the Avengers hoodie from the new Avengers collection in the team lineup ahead of kick off in the home matches against Girona (men’s) and Sevilla (women’s).
Under the title 'Heroes Among Us', Real Madrid first-team football players Toni Kroos, Marco Asensio, Ivana Andres and Teresa Abelleira lined up alongside basketball players Sergio Llull, Edy Tavares, Fabien Causeur, Guerschon Yabusele and Anthony Randolph in the Avengers launch campaign.
