Inspired by the iconic first away shirt used in the 1981-1982 season, Adidas and Liga MX side Tigres UANL have unveiled the club’s 2023 third shirt, connecting with the fans and reiterating the team's identity.
Mexican side Tigres UANL have a strong recent history with decent third shirts, and they continue that with their latest offering for 2023 from adidas. Inspired by the shirt used in the historic semi-final of the 1981-1982 League season, it arrives with a white base playing host to the classic blue stripe with yellow details in front and centre. It’s a classic look that’s sure to be a fan favourite, thanks to its historical connections and, let’s be honest, quality design, emphasised by the Three Stripe execution on the shoulders.
It carries a mix of Leeds United and Boca Juniors vibes, and that’s no bad thing. The previously mentioned Three Stripe branding on the shoulder feature in blue, filled in by yellow, and that combo plays out across the white base, most notably on the chest band. A traditional collar and cuff details, both blue, complete the look.
Equipped with AERO READY technology and thanks to adidas body mapping, the shirt has strategic ventilation to keep the body cool. Its intelligent design promotes ventilation and reduces sweat on the skin for movements with greater freedom that help improve performance. And it’s made with 100 percent recycled materials.
