Arriving in the club’s classic presentation but with a fresh new colourway, Liga MX side Pumas UNAM have unveiled and instantly debuted their new third shirt for the current 22/23 campaign, wearing it in their 4-1 win against León.
Few clubs in the world have such a strong signature look as that of Mexican side Pumas UNAM. The Liga MX club kits are instantly recognisable for the oversized Puma head logo that dominates the designs of their jerseys, always featuring front and centre in place of a traditional club crest. The difficult trick for the club and technical sponsors Nike is to keep the design looking fresh, and yet they somehow manage to do it year on year, not just twice with the home and away kits, but three times, as evidenced with the recent drop of the new third jersey.
The kits are not only elevated by the use of the aforementioned Puma head logo, but also for the use of golden hues, most commonly featuring on the home shirt, but also often spilling on to the alternate looks. And that’s the case here, with a black base playing host to the gold, which pops through the oversized logo, branding and sponsors, as well as the collar and cuff detailing.
The kit got off to a winning start following its unveiling, debuting in the side’s 4-1 hammering of León, in which del Prete opened the scoring, followed by strikes from de Olivera and a brace from Dinenno.
