Swiss Super League side BSC Young Boys turn 125 today, and to celebrate they’ve released a special anniversary shirt, produced by Nike and edged in gold. The kit will be debuted in this Sunday’s game against Basel.
On 14 March, 2023, the BSC YB celebrates its 125th birthday, and, following in the footsteps of some of the classiest clubs in the world, the Swiss side has taken the opportunity of this anniversary to release a very special kit. Produced by Nike, the 125th anniversary kit sees a black base joined by golden accents throughout, including a specially reworked crest and brand logo that seems to be reserved for premium releases only.
Set to be worn by the Swiss Super League leaders when they entertain Basel this Sunday, the 125th anniversary jersey features three golden double helix stripes on the torso, which fade away at each end. They represent the DNA of the club, running through the design, and they’re joined by a special stylised version of the club crest on the chest. And that crest is joined by the special version of the Nike logo, last seen on the special edition AIK 2023 ‘Stockholm’ shirt. Here, it sees an inversion of that execution, with the Swoosh blacked out to leave the golden “Nike” wording riding on top.
The shoulders feature a sublimated design, lending a deeper texture to the overall look, while the years 1898 and 2023 have been integrated into the back neck, below the collar. The right sleeve also carries a gold 125th anniversary badge.
