Dressing out the Banyana and Bafana for 2023 and into 2024, Le Coq Sportive have revealed the new home, away and third shirts for South Africa, and they’ve been designed and voted for by the fans.
With the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand rapidly approaching, Le Coq Sportive have finally unveiled the final home, away and third kits for South Africa. They have been created following a competition held by the brand for fans to firstly submit their own designs, and then for them to vote on their favourites – so there shouldn’t be much grumbling coming from that side!
The winning designs came from Lwazi Cedrick Ngcungama (@FreewayartsD), and it sees the home kit once again arriving in a golden yellow base, with green trim on the collar, while a sublimated graphic of the South African flag appears in both the front and back panels, embodying nationhood, patriotism and essence of Ubuntu. It’s set to get its debut when Banyana flies the SA flag in AUS/NZ.
The away shirt inverts the home shirt’s colour scheme, with a green base joined by golden yellow accents, notably in the cuffs and side panels. The design is a celebration of Banyana’s success in Rabat, wearing green when they picked up gold in 2022.
Finally, the third shirt, dubbed the ‘Legacy Jersey’, is inspired by the iconic Kappa-produced design from 1996, with geometric lines of gold, white and black playing out across its entirety. Then there’s a beautiful flourish on the cuffs that instantly adds something a little extra to the overall design.
The new South Africa kits will be available at lecoqsportif.co.za in the near furture.
