For the first time since the 1988/89 season, Ajax get a white away kit. More than being just a white kit though, the new shirt for the 23/24 season from adidas sees a turquoise/light pint pattern throughout to embody the contemporary, forward-facing nature of Ajax as a club.

Over the last half a decade or so, adidas have consistently blessed Ajax with some of the best kits around, and the Three Stripes maintain that standard with the first release for the 23/24 season. A complex history of pushing boundaries manifests in the club’s striking new away kit, which comes in white for the first time since 1988/1989. Before that, Ajax had a rich tradition of having a white away shirt, but due to the evolving rules and regs, there was a need for the away design to come in contrasting colours to the home, making a white shirt impossible for the Dutch club for a long time. Since 2020/21 though, and the regular release of third shirts, white is once again an option for the Dutch side's first choice alternate strip.

The white base is joined by a fan-favourite dark blue accent, acting as a nice link to last season’s away kit. That dark blue features on the Three Stripes on the shoulders, the logos and the three vertical Andreas cross on the collar of the jersey and on the socks. Completing the contrast between light and dark, old and new, a playful turquoise/light pink pattern has been added to the white of the jersey and the socks to embody the contemporary, forward-facing nature of Ajax as a club.
