Gearing up for their inaugural campaign in the USL W in 2023, Oakland Soul, the newly created sister side to Oakland Roots, have unveiled their first-ever home and away shirts from Meyba, with designs inspired by the soul of the town.
2023 marks the Inaugural Season for Oakland Soul Sports Club, and marking a huge step in the continuing creation of the club’s identity, the USL W side have unveiled their new home and away jerseys for 2023. Coming from MEYBA, the pair of jerseys are a split monochrome affair, with black as the home, and white as the away. But both jersey designs are then embellished with flourishes of colour that pop through the sleeve cuffs and the vibrant club crest.
The Home jersey pays homage to Oakland’s vibrant music history which has influenced so much of the music we hear today, and it features a sublimated psychedelic graphic of the club’s name repeated through the body. The Away jersey is a tribute to the Sun (Sol), that always shines a light on Oakland, and it too has a sublimated graphic through the body, though it is slightly more subtle in execution, but no less effective. Sleeve details in the reverse colours finish each design.
“The first ever Oakland Soul jerseys were always set to be a big moment for our Club,” said Chief Marketing Officer Edreece Arghandiwal. “We have all been dreaming up this drop for quite some time, and it is truly humbling to see this all come to life.”
