Aston Villa Reveal 23/24 Home Shirt From Castore

Suiting up for the new season, Aston Villa have unveiled their 23/24 home kit from Castore, which arrives with a new club crest and a somewhat controversial new sponsor.

The new Aston Villa 23/24 home kit from Castore arrives with a traditional look, although there’s a nice twist within. Inspired by the passion and the pride in the stands at Villa Park, the design depicts a subtle print of soundwaves taken from fans singing the ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ chant, ensuring the club’s passionate supporters are at the heart of this incarnation of the famous claret and blue.

Bolstering the new look for 23/24, the shirt is also the first to feature the clubs new redesigned crest, which pays homage to the club’s European Cup-winning heroes of 1982. The club will continue to use the existing shield design around Villa Park and on their digital channels, as well as in other areas, while they are also prepared for any inevitable backlash, and have said that they will monitor local, national and global reaction along with feedback to the use of both the crest and kit moniker as the 2023/24 campaign progresses.

And speaking of controversial decisions, the home strip also features new Principal Partner BK8 on the front of the shirt, despite the collective decision from Premier League clubs to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of clubs' matchday shirts. This is not set to take effect until the 26/27 season, but it still feels like an odd decision given what is to come.
