Hummel Drop Everton 23/24 Home Shirt

For the first time in a decade, an Everton home shirt will feature a collar, as Hummel unveil the Toffee’s new home shirt for 23/24. And it’s not just any old collar – it features a design that pays homage to Goodison’s famous Archibald Leitch pattern on its trim.

Right, for those of you scratching your head about the Archibald Leitch reference, lets start by clearing that up; Leitch was the renowned Scottish architect of the Bullens Road and Gwladys Street stands and the distinctive criss-cross steel that adorns the upper tier at Goodison Park. It’s not the first time an Everton home kit has referenced his work, with the 19/20 Umbro-produced home shirt featuring a chest graphic that nodded to the feature of Everton’s stadium that’s been around since 1909, but given that this could well be the club’s last season in the historic stadium, this latest nod feels a little more poignant.

The beautiful graphic pattern is also present on the cuffs, lending the whole design a striking frame, while the collar is also a nod to the classic hummel Denmark national team home shirt from their 1992 European Championship triumph, as part of a range of design inspirations marking the brand’s centenary year.

Other detailing on this season’s home kit includes a tape on the shirt’s shoulder that provides a revamped look for hummel’s iconic chevrons. This element is replicated down the sides of white home shorts, while royal blue chevrons appear in a stylish jacquard around the top of traditional white socks. The Everton Tower icon features on the shirt’s neck.

Everton’s 2023/24 kits will again be produced using hummel’s ECO8 technology - in line with the Club’s continued commitment to the Everton for Change environmental campaign. ECO8 sees material for each shirt manufactured from up to eight plastic bottles, while minimal water is used during the dying process.

Allan Vad Nielsen, CEO of hummel, said: “This is a truly special year for hummel as we celebrate 100 years as a brand.

“Because of this, we wanted our kits to reflect the principles that have made hummel wear so distinctive during that time, while also staying true to the traditions we know Evertonians respect and cherish.

“We are proud to have created a look we believe reflects us as a brand but remains authentically Everton through elements inspired by the great Goodison Park.”
