While Chelsea fans eagerly await the reveal of their new kit for the 23/24 season, they’ll have to content themselves for now with the reveal of the club’s new trainingwear collection from Nike, which was revealed as players returned for the start of preseason.
Mauricio Pochettino welcomed back the first few players from his squad as he took charge of the Chelsea men’s first team for the first time, and it was a fresh start all round, with the players reporting for duty in the club’s latest trainingwear collection from Nike. The collection is comprised of the usual drill tops, tees and track trousers, but there was also a first sight of the new 23/24 prematch shirt.
The main collection features a three-tone colourway, with the main white and black block colouring being joined by golden accents on the club crest and Swoosh branding. The player wear sees the white on the body and black sleeves, which the staff version inverts that execution, giving a black body with white sleeves. It’s a simple, clean and very effective look for the Blues, and it’s joined by a striking prematch shirt that once again, could – and perhaps should – be a match shirt.
It features a bold all-over graphic in blue and black, and that is again joined by golden accents, which are perhaps a little more apparent given that even the Trivago sponsor logo takes on the look. Prematch shirts often borrow from the official match kits, skewing the look for a radical take, so what clues could this give us about Chelsea’s new kit? Probably going to be blue, innit.
