Paying homage to the 1982/83 away shirt, adidas launch the Arsenal 23/24 third shirt, which sees the same colour scheme along with the simplified cannon crest that’s been in use on the away shirts for the last two seasons.
So far this season, adidas has arguably had a hit with their Arsenal home shirt, and probably a bit of a miss with the Gunners’ experimental away shirt, which really has proved to be a bit of a marmite release. But now they’re firmly back on track with the release of the club’s 23/24 third shirt, which arrives with a solid retro feel, drawing inspiration from the classic Umbro-produced 1982/83 away shirt.
The shirt features a “Rich Green” base colour, with the current adidas performance fabric lending it a deeper texture. “Collegiate Navy” sleeves feature white details at the cuffs, while white accents in the branding, sponsor and club crest stand out nicely. A subtle and stylised “AFC” appears embroidered in white on the single button collar, while the Three Stripes on the shoulders appear in a different navy tone.
