Following on from the reveal of the winner of the fan design contest for the 23/24 home shirt, PUMA and Borussia Dortmund have revealed that they’ve also used one of the entrants as the club’s new away shirt for this season.
After receiving more than 15,000 submissions in the fan design contest for the Home Jersey, Borussia Dortmund and PUMA decided to introduce another fan design as the 2023/24 Away Jersey, switching out the yellow and black colour scheme for the usual monochrome black and grey shades that the club opts for for its alternate strips. And as you’d expect from a fan design it’s rooted in the heart of the club’s history.
The Borussia Dortmund 23/24 away shirt utilises an aerial view of Borsigplatz, the square where BVB were founded in 1909, sublimated as an all-over print that spans the whole body of the jersey, paying tribute to the beating heart of Dortmund’s footballing heritage. Yellow accents then feature on the cuffs, sides and through the branding and club crest, while that pesky 1&1 once again sticks out like a sore thumb, failing to get in line with the colour scheme for what would be a more aesthetically pleasing presentation.
