While the Greek Super League might not be on everyone’s radar, sportswear brand Admiral are looking to rectify that to a certain extent, turning the spotlight on one of their teams, Volos FC, through a lookbook to highlight the club’s 2024 collection.
The majority of football fans will be well aware of the likes of Panathinaikos, Olympiakos and AEK Athens through the clubs’ various campaigns in European competitions over the years. But outside of that, it’s hard to name too many Greek Super League sides…their identities struggling to breach the geographical borders of their home nation. One such team is Volos FC, and their kit manufacturer – none other than British brand, Admiral – is making moves to raise the club’s profile beyond their homeland.
Volos FC is nestled within the coastal city of Volos in Thessaly, Greece. This region's vibrant history is intertwined with its busy harbour and its past lies with the workers that brought the area to life, and Volos FC takes on this rich heritage and regional identity. With its maritime connections, it’s fitting that Admiral, of all brands, has taken on the role of kit manufacturer, and they commemorate the club with the new 2024 collection, captured in a new lookbook, captured against the backdrop of the city’s historic port.
The home shirt for the 2023/24 season adopts the traditional red and blue stripe design, topped off with a polo collar, while the away and third kits split the difference, so to speak, opting for a solid red and solid blue design respectively, both of which feature a subtle gradient graphic in the body for added definition. The shirts are joined by a walk-out track jacket, which takes on the red.
