San Diego Wave Unveils New 2024 Del Sol & Poderosa Jerseys

San Diego Wave FC and Nike have unveiled the first-ever custom jersey in club history, the 'Del Sol' primary jersey, along with a new secondary jersey, 'Poderosa', ahead of the 2024 season.

For the first time ever, a women’s professional soccer league has received a league-wide kit reset, with Nike hitting refresh on the primary and secondary uniforms for every single team in the NWSL ahead of the 2024 season. The bespoke kits have been designed to reflect each club’s identity, providing a sense of joyful expression, and a perfect example of this comes from San Diego Wave FC, who introduce the first bespoke jersey in the club’s history with the Del Sol kit, which lines up alongside the ‘Poderosa’ kit.

With details that celebrate the club and San Diego, the bright and bold ‘Del Sol’ primary jersey is inspired by the club’s shared horizon, where the ocean meets the sky, and conjures images of a classic San Diego sunset. The white base plays host to an interplay of light blue, orange and pink hues, conjuring images of the beautiful sunsets that the city is renowned for.

As is seemingly the approach Nike have taken with their league-wide kit reset, NWSL teams seem to be getting one standout design alongside a more simplistic offering. The latter for The Wave FC is the secondary jersey, Poderosa, which features a bright pink colour base with an ombre wrapping down the jersey.

And the kit drop doesn’t stop there either, with The Wave also getting a jazzy prematch jersey, which sees a mix of blue tones playing out across its entirety, bringing ocean feels to the design. It rounds out a strong wardrobe for the coming campaign, which gets underway with the NWSL Challenge Cup against Gotham FC on 16 March.
