Vancouver Whitecaps Celebrate 50th Anniversary With 2024 Secondary Jersey

Celebrating the club's golden anniversary in sleek style, Vancouver Whitecaps dropped their new adidas secondary kit for the 2024 season. ‘The 50 Jersey’, as it’s known, puts emphasis on the modern reinterpretation of the club’s original crest from their inaugural season in 1974.

2024 seems to be quite significant for North America in terms of anniversaries, with it being 30 years since the birth of Major League Soccer and the 1994 World Cup on home soil. It also seems to be a year of crucial anniversaries and milestones for several clubs, and among them are Vancouver Whitecaps, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary in style with ‘The 50 Jersey’, which comes courtesy of adidas.

Honouring the club’s status as the longest running professional soccer club in Canada and the United States, The 50 Jersey highlights a modern interpretation of the original crest during the inaugural season in 1974. The colour palette features the club’s navy blue as the base with gold trim accents in the form of the branding and the aforementioned club crest. As well as that, the ’Caps premier partner TELUS falls in line with the gold presentation, elevating the overall aesthetics.

This is another big moment in a milestone season for our club,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC chief executive officer. “We are excited to officially launch our 50th Anniversary jersey. The feedback we have received from our players is that this is already one of their favourite kits. We are looking forward to seeing both our team and our supporters wearing this jersey as we embark on our biggest season yet.
