Drawing strength and inspiration from the old city wall of Stockholm, AIK have revealed and debuted their new home shirt for 2024 from Nike.
Back in February AIK revealed a special limited edition kit to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Allsvenskan. Now, with the 2024 season set to start on 1 April, the club have revealed their new home shirt, debuting it in the Svenska Cupen semi final second leg match against Djurgården. As is traditional, the shirt is mainly black with yellow applications and detailing, highlighting the special graphic that features on the cuffs in a nod to the wall of Stockholm.
When Fritz Carlsson-Carling originally designed AIK's club logo, he integrated the old city wall to mark AIK as the real Stockholm club. Now, that wall is the focus of the new shirt design, as its brick work spills from crest to cuff in a bespoke execution. The special brickwork pattern features throughout the yellow details on the shirt, including the Swoosh, sponsor and the numbers on the front and rear.
On the rear neck, just under the collar, is an homage to Kurt Hamrin, one of the greatest Swedish players of all time, who passed away in February just weeks ago.
