Always high on the jersey drop priority list, adidas have revealed the new Ajax away shirt for the 24/25 season. And, as you’d imagine, it’s a typically bold affair, with the creative nature of Amsterdam acting as the inspiration for the new kit.
The adidas x Ajax machine continues to march on in power as they near quarter of a century of partnership, and having had a string of amazing kits over the last few years, the pair are at it again for the 24/25 season with their new away kit. This time it’s an eye-catching look, consisting of different shades of blue, with yellow as the most striking accent colour. Blue-green also returns as an accent colour, in dynamic strips along the kit.
The design evokes memories of the divisive Tottenham Hotspur third shirt from the 21/22 season, although you get the feeling that this one will be more widely accepted as a concept. The new away design plays into the creative culture of the city, with the shirt being a canvas upon which a graphic reminiscent of brush strokes is presented. As always, the Amsterdam St. Andrew's Crosses can be seen on the back of the shirt.
It’s yet another bespoke look for the Dutch side, and it’ll be interesting to see how it's received by fans, as it has a bit of a marmite feel to it.
